I know this is one of those fusion cuisine things that really annoy some people, but I think it’s delicious and warming and just looks like a cup of late autumn sunshine (without being disgusting pumpkin spice which is morally wrong).

Turmeric is really good for you as it reduces inflammation, and cinnamon (usually a second spice in the drink) is great too because it defends against the common cold and other viruses. Not that I’ve had a cold for a couple of years — working from home and masking helps with that!
I make it by putting a quarter of a teaspoon of turmeric, a quarter of a teaspoon of cinnamon, a quarter of a teaspoon of ginger, at least a teaspoon of brown sugar, and some milk in a big mug, microwaving it, and then whisking it thoroughly.

Have you tried making on a stove rather than in a microwave?

no but it would probably be even better!

Spices can change flavour when boiled, so I wondered if adding them before/during/after heating the milk in a pan made a difference. O well, I suppose I’ll have to do some experiments… think of me, forced to drink many mugs of turmeric latte.

I don’t know but it’s a worthwhile experiment!
