    Wow, very dense and technical article, but interesting. I had not heard of him, though in years past I went to many early music concerts.

    1. I think the article may be an excerpt from Brian’s PhD thesis, but it was indeed interesting.

      The only reason I had heard of Peter Warlock is because I went to see David Pownall’s play “Music to Murder By” at the Nuffield Theatre in Southampton (UK), in the mid 1980s. Two of the main characters in the play are the ghosts of Peter Warlock and Carlo Gesualdo.

        Wow. What a cool connection. And only slightly later than that I was going to concerts by the Early Music Guild, listening to such greats as Emma Kirkby, David Thomas, etc. I had no idea about the people behind the scenes who made this music available in our time.
