Since we haven’t been able to go anywhere at weekends during the lockdown, we’ve been very busy in the garden. We’ve also seen lots of birds (cardinals, robins, a woodpecker, chickadees, and mourning doves) and squirrels (both black and grey) in the garden.

Here are some photos. I’ve also been posting pictures on my Instagram account.

I’m so glad we can get out into the garden. It must be awful being stuck in an apartment during the lockdown.

We are going to be growing lots of food in our raised beds. We are currently growing rutabaga (swede), Brussels sprouts, onions, herbs, and fennel in trays in the front porch (it’s too cold at night for them to be outside just yet), and are planning to plant peas, runner beans, squashes, and tomatoes after that. The growing season in Canada is relatively short, but once the weather warms up, things will grow quite fast.
