In the early 1990s when I was first starting out on my witchy path, I was taught that, whilst the Age of Aquarius (or whatever you want to call the post-capitalism world) is at hand, the old order won’t just disappear: it will fight tooth and nail to retain its grip on power. We are seeing that now: the genocides happening everywhere, the right introducing anti-trans laws, the overturning of Roe v Wade, the arrest and persecution of climate change activists.
We can also see signs of the birth of an age of progressive values — more people than ever before supporting LGBTQ2SIA rights, Indigenous land rights, and climate justice — but progress is not inevitable. We have to work for it, by speaking up, campaigning, and writing to representatives — and magically, spiritually.
I am also reminded of WB Yeats’ poem The Second Coming, which was also written in a time of upheaval (and is definitely an occult perspective and not a Christian one).
The world is like a ship sailing through perilous waters right now, and we want as many people as possible to make it through: Palestinians, Jewish people, Indigenous people, Black people, Armenians, Uighurs, LGBTQ2SIA people, everyone.
“There is no way to peace: peace is the way”

Check out this amazing & inclusive piece by Rabbi Danya Ruttenberg: A peacemaking lens.
And this amazing piece by Edward Goode about the mutual nurture of trees, shared by Rabbi Danya.
We can create peace by mutual nurture, mutual understanding, and planting the seeds of peace.
Be like trees.

I’m finding the Druid prayer for peace really helpful right now:
Deep within the still centre of my being
— Druid prayer
May I find peace.
Silently within the quiet of the Grove
May I share peace.
Gently, powerfully, within the greater circle of humankind
May I radiate peace.
I’ve been writing daily notes on Substack and in my broadcast channel on my Instagram account, both called The Moon Path.

Trees are such lovely creatures. The world would definitely benefit from more humans trying to be trees!
